Report a CLAIM
At the Scene of an Accident
(You might want to print this page and keep it in your glove compartment for easy reference in case of an accident.)
Provide assistance to any injured person. Call 911 and get trained emergency medical personnel to the scene. Protect yourself and your vehicle from further damage or loss. Exchange information with the other parties and get the names of any witnesses. If required, contact the police. In most states, it is unlawful to leave the scene of an accident without permission. In case of auto theft, or a hit-and-run accident, it is very important that you contact the police within 24 hours. Cooperate with the authorities. Do not make any statements at the scene accepting responsibility for the accident. Our staff will investigate the accident and weigh the facts to determine what caused the accident. Do not discuss the accident in detail except with an Arbella claims service specialist, customer service assistant or your agent.
To Report An Automobile Loss As soon as possible, complete a detailed report of the loss or accident and provide it to Arbella or your agent as quickly as possible.
Here are some things you can do to help us settle your claim.
Report all losses, no matter how minor. The damage may seem so small that it's below your deductible, but you can't be sure until an appraiser examines it. Also, the other driver or a passenger may report being injured later. Include all relevant details including names, addresses and phone numbers of the drivers, injured persons and witnesses. Be sure to give us all your phone numbers. Tell us where your vehicle is. If it can't be driven, we may ask for permission to tow it to a safe, well-guarded lot. Cooperate with the claims service specialist who contacts you in order to handle your claim effectively, efficiently and quickly.
If your vehicle can't be driven or it isn't convenient to take it to a drive-in claim center, let us know. If your policy covers the type of damage your vehicle sustains, we will send a licensed appraiser to examine it.
The claims service specialist will review the facts of the accident, your coverage and the appraisal of damages, and send you a check for the amount to which you are entitled.
Some customers prefer to have the repair work done and then to have Arbella pay the shop directly. If that is the case, you should ask your claims service specialist for details about the completed work claim form procedure.
Getting Your Car Fixed With your check, we'll send you a list of licensed repair shops.
For your convenience, we'll highlight the shops that have agreed to perform all the work on our appraisals for the amount we pay. It's that easy. Not only that, but if you use one of the referral shops on the list, Arbella will guarantee the quality of the repairs.
What if the Check Isn't Enough to Cover the Repairs? No problem. Sometimes it's not possible for the appraiser to accurately gauge all the damage on one of today's complex vehicles. If the check is insufficient, the body shop will contact Arbella to get a supplemental appraisal and, if appropriate, we'll send you a check to make up the difference.
